Why study Electrical Engineering?

You can expect classes with a lot of practical activity, state-of-the-art laboratories, individual support, small teaching groups, close contact with local industrial partners, interesting content and future-oriented projects such as in renewable energies, Industrial Internet of Things, e-mobility, smart houses … and a lot of fun.

After this programme
, you will be very well prepared for the job market and can work as an engineer in important future technical areas. Both pay and career outlook are good.

Career fields and opportunities

Graduates of electrical engineering, both Bachelor and Master, are highly sought after in many areas. Electrical engineers are irreplaceable, today, and in the future, in important areas such as mobility, sustainable use of our resources or intelligent networked and secure production systems.

The activities are many and varied, such as project management in technical development, in production but also in sales. Many follow a career in management.

You do not have to make a decision
yet about which area you will be active in. You have the opportunity to get to know a number of companies and fields of work to help you know what lies ahead of you.

The Programme

Benefits for international students
As the programme starts in English, many international applicants who do not have good German skills can start their engineering studies on this programme.

German training is a vital component of the curriculum, not just during but also between the semesters in the form of three-week intensive courses. A three-week intensive language and culture programme directly before the start of the first semester provides a valuable start to learning German and helps new international students settle in. Students study towards passing the DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber)

Benefits for German students
English competence is a much sought after skill in the engineering sector, and German students can gain vital experience by studying in English for their first year. German native speakers need to choose a technical English and another non-engineering elective.
